Swedish Massage

Massage is the art of healing through touch and pressure. It restores balance to the mind, body and spirit. Swedish Body Massage also known as Holistic Massage, dates back from the early 19th century.  It is the original massage technique that uses oils, involving a sequence of movements working superficially and deeper into the tissue layers. It is one of the easiest ways of attaining and maintaining good health and something we do naturally. It is a healing instinct, innate in us all, to rub an aching shoulder or stubbed toe. By using oils and gentle manipulation, the power of touch eases our troubled minds, relieves aches and pains and provides a feeling of true relaxation.  Swedish Body Massage is an uplifting and energizing massage that stimulates circulation and generates an immediate sense of well-being. A light and relaxing treatment, Swedish Body massage is designed to ease away the aches and stresses of everyday life. Wonderful for relaxation, a full body massage includes work on the neck, shoulders, arms, upper chest, abdomen (optional), back and legs.

What you will learn:

Over the two days you will learn to give a treatment involving giving light rhythmic strokes, some long relaxing effleurage strokes, pettrisage, kneading, friction, tapping and other techniques to give your client at truly wonderful experience. You will develop your ability to apply structured pressure, tension, motion or vibrations to the soft tissues of the body, muscles, tendons, ligaments, joints and lymphatic system in order to leave the body totally relaxed and rested.

• All our courses can be studied by students of all ages and academic levels. A qualification in Anatomy & Physiology is required.  However we can train you and then give you the certificate upon completion of training.  Those who have done refelxology or some kind of A&P within an integrated diploma need to contact us to see if they are able to bypass the A&P diploma.
• You only need to bring yourself a packed lunch, the rest we provide: chairs, towels, therapy tables, oils, music, course notes, certificate and candles etc
